Big Pit

Big Pit is a real coal mine and one of Britain’s leading mining museums. Entry is free. Winner of the the 2005 Gulbenkian Prize for Meuseum of the year and named by the Times as the Uk’s best interactive museum, the museum has a wide range of experiences to captivate the whole family. With facilities to educate and entertain all ages, Big Pit is an exciting and informative day out.
