Canyon Cottage

Amazing place to stay if you love nature and long walks the hot tube was a good addition to the end of a long hiking day. Will defo be returning back without a doubt. Thank you so much for this amazing experience!!

My wife and I stayed here for four nights with our dog and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect, surrounded by lots of good trails and nice local pubs a 10 minute walk away. The place felt really private making it easy to relax. The hot tub was an added benefit.The place was really clean when we arrived and pretty much had everything we need. The only thing we'd say is that if you're planning to cook anything more than basic food, you may want to bring your own pans/utensils. What is currently in the kitchen seems quite old and probably needs refreshing.In terms of comfort, both the sofa and bed were very comfy - perfect for evenings in by the fire.

Loved the stay, stayed with a friend for a birthday get away and it was perfect. We are both hikers and the local walks were amazing, some of them right on the doorstep! Place was spotless and everything you could need, Peter had provided! Would definitely stay again

Peter’s place was just as described, peaceful and perfect! My dog and I had the best stay. The holiday bungalow had everything we needed, plus the addition of a hot tub which was ideal for after long walks. The pubs in the vicinity were lovely and welcoming too. I’d definitely recommend Peter’s place for anyone looking for a relaxing stay. The garden was also very well kept and loved the beautiful sound of nature whilst being sat out there. Would love to visit again!

Absolutely brilliant stay. Brilliant location, nice and quiet surroundings. Instructions were clear and the communication was lerfct. Place was easy to find and self check in was seamless. Parking was easy to find a spot in the residents bays. Hot tub was really nice in a very private garden. Beds were extremely comfortable as were the sofas. Quick WiFi and all amenities listed were on hand. Honestly wouldn't change a thing and will definitely rebook if ever in the area again.

We had an amazing time at this place. The views and walks were ideal with our dog. There are 3 pubs within a 10 minute walk down paved walkways. The start of the waterfall walk is in the same location as the angel pub. Dinas rock is a 1 minute walk from the property. There is a village hall that does hot and cold food and drinks which is next to the property. We went to Port Talbot beach as it was only a 30 minute drive, it was perfect for us as the beach is lovely and has a dog friendly zones at the end of each side of the beach. The hot tub was the icing on the cake to come back to after long walks. On the road to the pubs there is a house selling jams and another house selling cakes which were all delicious. We spoke to the neighbours of the property who were so friendly and welcoming. Amazing place and even better locals. We had a fantastic time

Just got back from an amazing little break at this beautiful home in the most incredible location. Lots to do right from the door step, waterfalls, wild swimming, pubs, and zip world just a short drive away. The property was easy to find, loads of parking and absolutely spotless. To top it off you get to come home to a large hot tub, just what your need after a long hike! Would 100% recommend checking this property out to explore the beautiful south wales.

Great location, we walked to the waterfalls and we had dinner at a pub which was a short walk away. The hot tub was perfect after lots of walking.Was surprised and disappointed at the cleanliness when we arrived. There’s were lots of old cobwebs with dead flies in the corner of most rooms and one of the sofas was covered in the previous dogs hairs. A premium is paid for dogs additional cleaning. The bedsheets also had a big rip i. Not a great start.After hoovering the house when we got there we enjoyed our stay. Great location and accommodation had every you would need.

A wonderful peaceful little cottage, the rear garden space with hot tub was a perfect place to rest after long walks. And always a little Robin to keep me company ! We had older children with us and the space was just right for us to be together to eat and play games, but their room was also nice a spacious for them to escape to. We visited some popular waterfall trails and Pen y fan mountain, all were fairly strenuous compared to walks we are used to ( coast/ forest) , but well worth the effort. We only discovered the trail behind the Angel pub on the last evening, it was flat and better if you have small/ older dogs. We went in the water there it was lovely, I’d like to visit again to explore this trail more. Thanks Peter for a wonderful break.

Ideal location for exploring the beautiful Waterfall Country. Host made check in and out straightforward. Property inside was clean and tidy.Back garden was peacful and the hot tub was well needed after a hard days walking.Great info supplied about local walks. Very dog friendly, back garden secure, water bowl provided and lovely touch with the dog treats. Would stay again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful, modern bungalow. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.The location is simply incredible, with some of the most breathtaking waterfall walks in the Neath Valley right on the doorstep. We brought our two dogs, and they absolutely loved the stunning walks as much as we did. The scenery was unforgettable and made for a truly special trip.We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in an amazing location. We will definitely be back to enjoy it all again!

This place is in a perfect location and is beautiful and has an amazing garden with hot tub. Garden is secluded and really lovely. Beds were so comfortable and linen and bedding lovely. Everything you need. The local pubs selling really great food and the location is perfect for waterfalls and walks.

We just loved our stay here. Lovely accommodation perfectly located for a whole host of beautiful walks, waterfalls and places to visit. Comfortable, clean and sized just right for our needs.Host communication was prompt, detailed, friendly and very helpful.The local Co-op was more than adequate for food supplies and only a short drive away.The hot tub was an added bonus and very much appreciated for the aching muscles after a days hiking!We hope to return one day.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage. The location was perfect for walking, and we spent most of our time exploring the nearby waterfalls. The accommodation was ideal for our needs, with plenty of space for both us and our dog. The garden was wonderful for her to explore, and the hot tub was the perfect way to relax after a long day of walking.

The location was absolutely perfect for our small family, plus dog, the information provided on walks and pubs were perfect, we managed to visit many walks and 3 different pubs thanks to the host’s recommendations. Log burner was perfect for the evening and my daughter loved the hot tub after exploring the local area. The neighbours were super smiley and friendly whenever we passed them and the cottage had everything we needed for the week. The little dog treats were a huge bonus for our dog too. Thank you for a fabulous stay, we cannot wait to return in the near future!

This was a much needed and wonderful trip away in the perfect spot. Tucked in a corner, we enjoyed the private space for use of the hot tub and loved watching the birds in the garden too. Everything we needed was there and was perfect, Lydia and Peter responded quickly to messages and we really appreciated the extra information about the place and area that was sent in a welcome message. We had no issues at all and would absolutely come here again. Thank you!

Ideal location for a few days walking 😀 - The location is fantastic with riverside walks right on the doorstep When we arrived, it was lovely and warm inside. Comfortable beds and modern inside. The wood burner gave out a great heat, easy to get it going. The bungalow sits in the corner of a very quiet estate. Would recommend the old white horse pub for eating . The food was delicious, (and only a 10 minute walk away on the level.)

Fab stay at Canyon Cottage. Good communication and easy check in. Property was nice and clean throughout and an amazing location for walks to waterfalls and caves and only a 20 min drive to Bike Park Wales, Zip World and other places to keep the kids entertained. Local pubs also excellent! Would happily stay again.

Fantastic location, with waterfall trails and local pubs within walking distance. Very quiet and peaceful cottage with a lovely private garden and easy parking.

It’s a different property because it’s within a residential estate, but the front garden has beautiful hedging and flowers, and the back garden is private and really green. It’s a lovely place, we had plenty of space for 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs. The location of the property is perfect for dog walks and getting outdoors and only 15-20 mins to Zip World which was great fun. All in all a really great stay, and we’d certainly book here again. Thank you!

The two bedroom home is very well kept with everything you need. Great having an enclosed outside area for the dogs.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage! The property was spotlessly clean, and the modern kitchen and bathroom were a delight to use. The cottage had plenty of space for the two of us, and we appreciated the comfortable living area.
The location was perfect - convenient for exploring the local area, and just a short drive from the stunning waterfalls. We also appreciated the proximity to the Brecon Beacons, which was only a 25-minute drive away.
Our host was incredibly responsive and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway. Can't wait to come back!

Lovely and spacious place! Well located for some great walks. Close by to nice pub but still rural and quiet.

Lovely quiet stay, very clean with ample crockery etc. Close to the things we wanted to do. Dogs were very happy too.

We had a great stay at Pontneddfachen,
The area was great. We loved walking down to the Old White Horse and the Angel as food was stunning in both.
We also found a McDonald’s down the road for quick coffees before we set off.
Easy access to Rhossili bay. About an hour drive. Very easy.
The cottage was lovely. Bed was comfy. It was very tidy. And dog friendly! The local residents are so friendlt. We spoke to a lady next door and she was asking if we needed help with bags. She was so kind. The Town hall was so busy which was nice to see.

We had a lovely few nights at peters place. Very dog friendly! The place was basic but had everything you need. The location was amazing, we went on some lovely walks! Would definitely stay here again!

Canyon Cottage was perfect for our quick getaway to the Beacons. We come quite often and this was the perfect location for waterfall country and the hikes we had planned. The space had everything we needed, and would definitely return.

We absolutely loved our stay here! We were so lucky to have the waterfalls right on our doorstep! It was a really beautiful location. The beds were super comfy (no cheap mattresses with mattress toppers here), the place was warm and there was ample hot water. The garden was a wonderful bonus too. Cannot fault it!

Canyon cottage had everything that we needed. Bed were really comfortable everything was very clean and it was literally on the doorstep of the four waterfalls walk. Two great pubs close by (I reckonmend booking for meal's as very busy) excellent food. Will definitely stay at this or there other property s again. To sum it up amazing trip around.

This is on the edge of the village, 1km walk to pubs/cafe and trail, but is less than 1 minute from Dinas Rock and a fabulous walk to yr eira waterfall. Near perfect location for ability to just walk out and walk for a couple of days, for longer stays other trails are only short distance by car. Private garden with a dog poo bin outside the back gate, additional cafe in village hall round the corner but only open on Fridays and Saturdays.
Tried both pubs and cafe and went to each more than once as all lovely and varied. Would definitely recommend property and location.
Also really helpful maps in the property to assist with planning the day.
Would highly recommend accommodation and location and will hopefully return soon.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this spotlessly clean house, perfectly located right on the doorstep of Dinas Rocks. Peter and Lydia were exceptional hosts, providing clear rules and prompt responses that made our experience seamless.

The house is thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need—board games, a TV, and even a cozy log wood burner that made our evenings extra special. Restaurants within walking distance were a bonus, offering plenty of dining options.

As we stayed over Christmas Day, Peter and Lydia went above and beyond by adding special touches like a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and festive decorations in the living room. It made our holiday stay feel truly magical.

We can’t recommend this place enough and will certainly be visiting again. Thank you, Peter and Lydia, for a memorable stay!

Fantastic location right outside Dina’s Rock, walk straight into National Park, perfect for walkers. Delicious food in local pubs, bistro, can’t fault it. Property clean, comfortable and warm. My only criticism is I’d asked if garden was secure, but sadly it wasn’t, it was 3’ high and quite flimsy with gaps. We didn’t have faith in our recent rescue dog to stay put in the garden, so we had to go out for toilet breaks which is tedious. But, other than that we’d definitely return with a better trained dog hopefully! 😀

The cottage was very clean, garden perfect (and contained) for dogs. Waterfall walks on your doorstep and peaceful location. Nice selection of homely products provided (cleaning, soaps, towels, teas/coffees etc.). Loved the log burner. Very much enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was spotless and the décor was good. Loved that the heating was on upon our arrival on a very wet miserable day! The cottage is set in a very quiet area, literally just around the corner from Dina’s Rock and just minutes away from various tourist attractions and landmarks. We felt safe and secure throughout our stay.

Communication was seamless, the host was responsive and considerate, even assisting with a slightly earlier check in which was much appreciated.

We visited the local eateries/pubs and they were all lovely. We had breakfast in Sgwd Gwladys which was fantastic, lunch in the Angel and drinks in the Old White Horse, everyone is super friendly in the White Horse!

Planning to explore more of Wales in the near future and would definitely return. Thank you!

Our stay at Canyon Cottage exceeded our expectations. It was incredibly clean, not a single spider in sight, despite it being their mating season when they tend to make an appearance in homes. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept really well. The bungalow was warm and cosy with an excellent wet room. We felt very relaxed and didn’t want to leave after our 3 night stay.

The location for exploring the Brecon Beacons was spot on. Neither of us had visited this area of Wales before, and we will definitely be back. We loved the four waterfall walk, it was such an amazing experience to be able to walk behind one of the falls - I’d recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds. There are so many other waterfalls to see in the area too. Another first for us, was having a tour of a whiskey distillery, very interesting, and, of course, we came away with a tasty bottle of Penderyn which we are looking forward to opening.
