Clyne Gardens

Clyne Gardens is one of Swansea’s best kept secrets. Well worth a visit any time of year, however, from Spring it is a riot of colour. The current park was formed from the landscaped gardens created by Glynn Vivian of the Vivian family who purchased the castle in 1860. The estate passed to his nephew Algernon, ‘The Admiral’ in 1921 who owned it until his death in 1952. Today it is managed by the City Authorities and is free to enter. From the massive botanical plants to the carpet of bluebells and wild garlic, its a fantastic place for all ages. There’s several picnic areas and the higher fields afford magnificent views across swansea bay. Swansea Beach is adjacent with a fantastic children’s playground and lido. There are several place to buy refreshments nearby. Access is from oystermouth road, car park is reached turning in next to the Woodman pub. Walking. It is a dog friendly park and in summer has loads of events all worth a visit.
